Edo town, Ningyocho

Ningyocho, translated as pupet town, is the city retained the atomosphere of old town Edo. During Edo period, this place was one of the most thriving entertainment district that Kabuki, Joruri plays were attarcted Edo people everyday. Meijiza

Right after 100th anniversary, this theater has been renewed as modern building. The theater is maily shown Kabuki and modern samurai story played by Japanese top actors such as Hideki Takahashi, Hiroshi Itsuki, Tomio Umezawa. Tickets for some of the popular plays are sold out just a few hours, so please check carefully when you would like to try.


Suitengu

This shrine is well known as strong divine for safe childbirth. Young parents often visit to worship them. Also, sailors and people who work around river come to give thanks for protection from water accident.


Srvrn Gods of Lucky

Edo town people believed worship all the 7 gods of lucky shrines give you strong power of lucky. Each shrine is located around Ningyocho area. It takes about an hour to stroll around all the shrines. Amazake-yokocho

Amazake-yokocho is the name of street where you can find traditional arts shop such as Japanese kimono, shamisen(japanese 3 string instrument) and traditional restaurant. This street gives you nostargic expression. Most of the shop around this street is not open night time. Around noon time is the best time to roam around.


Ningyocho Street

This main street is filled with restaurant, tea shop, confectionery, and Japanese style bar(Izakaya). I bet you find core traditional Japanese food such as kasuduke, tsukemono, and off course Ningyoyaki!!
